Dr. Chiaven Phen earned her doctorate of dental surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry in 2003. She also obtained advanced training for two years following the completion of her dental program at Metrohealth Hospital in Ohio, specializing in Hospital Dentistry for children. Her focus during these two years was on children with special needs, both medically and behaviorally. Since then Dr. Phen has been practicing pediatric dentistry in California and Nevada. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Santa Clara Dental Society.
Dr. Phen is Chinese by origin and grew up in a family of dentists. In her spare time, she enjoys keeping herself busy with her two energetic young kids. Her motto is “Educating patients about early oral health is the key to healthy teeth and happy smiling kids.”
Her interests also include providing early growth therapy, which minimizes the need for extensive orthodontic treatment.
